Fertigation Machines

The Ferti-Gator® range of liquid fertilizer injector machines (fertigation machines) make use of venturi injector technology which is simple in design and highly reliable, providing years of low maintenance and service to the grower. Gator venturi injectors are available in two models namely: the MINI, which offers an injection rate of 400 l/Hr or the MAXI, which offers an injection rate of 1000 l/Hr.

Venturi injectors require high differential pressure between the inlet and the outlet of the injector in order to generate adequate suction capabilities through the suction intake of the injector. Although there are several methods to deploy venturi injectors systems in a pressured irrigation network, mainly two are used in commercial irrigation, namely:

 


The Main Pump Suction system (MPS)– This type of injection system makes use of the existing main water pump in the irrigation system which provides pressurized water into the venturi injector/s intake from the delivery side of the main water pump while discharging the enriched water (motive flow + suction flow) back into the suction side of the main water pump.

The Pressurized Line system (PL) – This type of injection system makes use of the available water pressure in the irrigation supply mainline and introduces this water into the venturi injector/s intake. Once this water has passed through the venturi significant pressure is lost and as such a booster pump is required to boost this pressure to a level great enough allowing the re-introduction of the returning enriched water back into the main supply pipeline.

It is not advisable to deploy venturi injectors where line pressure is less than 2 Bar.

Fert-Gator® machines are available as single channel (SOLO) injector machines or multi channel (MULTI) injector machines.
